Shave Doctor - The perfect wet shave - Step 1.
Firstly, never use an electric razor! Always wet shave, the extra few minutes is so worth it!
Use a facial scrub, preferably in the shower, to open the pores in the hot steam. The scrub exfoliates the skin, removing dead skin cells, lifts the facial hairs and reduces the risk of ingrowing hairs.

Next apply a pre-shave oil. We recommend The Shave Doctor’s Shave Oil of course! If you do nothing else, this really makes a difference! The shave oil lubricates the skin, and softens the hair, preparing the beard perfectly for your shave.

Straight on top of the shave oil, you need your shave crème, we don’t use gels or foams, a crème really is the best product to use to maintain the moisture level your skin needs throughout the shave. The ideal way to apply the crème is with a brush. A brush really lifts the hairs ready for your razor, and you will actually use less with a brush.

Now you’re ready to shave. Use a good quality razor like a King of Shaves Azor or a Gillette Fusion. To get the best results we do two shaves, first the down-shave, then the up-shave! The down-shave, as it suggests involves shaving with the grain or hair growth direction.

Finally, a good moisturiser! This is so important to replace the moisture in your skin after the shave. We recommend the Shave Doctor’s Moisturazor of course!
