Akeewakee, pronounced "AY-KEY-WAY-KEY" known for its cutting-edge design and exacting quality standards, has produced ultra-clean burning candles from its studio outside New Orleans since 2003. Its creations have previously only been available at its signature boutique within Marshall Field’s flagship store on State Street in Chicago and selected high-end specialty stores in the Chicago area.

Founded by artist Akee Sukkajonwong, a native of Thailand, Akeewakee was born from Akee’s single-minded passion to create candles that refresh the soul, delight the senses and epitomize quality and beauty.

Akeewakee candles are presented in a smart curved top glass container. They are made with Soy wax which burns up to 50% longer, cleaner, with virtually no black smoke and unsightly soot. The wick is a patented plant fiber containing no zinc or lead. It is biodegradable.
